Question about synthesizing Level 80 Epic Armor Sets

Hi, I'm a bit confused confused about synthesizing the level 80 armor sets. Say for example, I want to synthesize the Netheran Covenant Robe, I have all the correct items: Saints Mistweave Robe (Outstanding), lvl 80 pristine robe (x2) and Epic Exelorn Shard (x18). Would the finished product (Netheran Covenant Robe) be outstanding quality since I used Outstanding Saint's Misteave Robe? Or is it totally random quality I get? If it's purely random, then is it better of using poor, fair, ordinary and good quality Saint's Misteave Robe?

So to summarize:

Saints Mistweave Robe (Outstanding), lvl 80 pristine robe (x2) and Epic Exelorn Shard (x18) = Netheran Covenant Robe (Oustanding Quality) ??

OR

Saints Mistweave Robe (Outstanding, Good, Ordinary, Ordinary, Fair, poor - doesn't matter what quality), lvl 80 pristine robe (x2) and Epic Exelorn Shard (x18) = Netheran Covenant Robe (Random Quality) ??

well here it is from my personal experience
1st i thought pretty much like you that if i get savior set OS i will get immortal set OS but i got a poor piece so that means it is random.now i have a full OS immortal set made from 2good,2ordinary,1fair and 1poor piece of mistweave savior set.
hope that removed any confusion

as darkwater said, it's random. You can use a poor mistweave item and still get an Outstanding Netheran item. (I usually make a random Mistweave to create a Netheran). Only the legendary set, orange glow, is always outstanding whatever you use for it.

Thanks for the clarification! I was very confused in how the whole process works :S So I guess I need to stock up quite a bit of phantom shards now xD Thanks again

it is random even if the phantom armour you used is Outstanding you still may recieve a poor quality exelorn peice
