Upgrading Frag from Earthen to Sup Qestion~

just wanna ask if someone have ever tried upgrading from earthen to superior fragarach with gems in it~?
earthen->earthen doesnt lose gems and so as Sup-->Sup.
im upgrading soon, just want to be sure =p any real life exp. is appreciated.. hehe

The gems will not disappear. I've upgraded all the way up to Superior VI and the gems remained.
