  • [Guide] Uploading Images to Forum

Here you will learn the ways to upload to forum, it is relatively simple and comes in very very handy.

To get Image attachments to appear as they do here, you must click the icon that says "Image" next to "insert video" icon where the red arrow points.

Once you have selected the files you want from your computer and it shows in the list as so, click upload files and the proper code will automatically inject itself into the thread for your picture or pictures to appear as it shows in the first picture of this thread. if that is confusing, here is what it will look like when finished

Those are called BB codes for embedding a image into forum. and when finally posted will look like the below image.
Which all can again be previewed before posting by clicking go advanced or preview post next to the submit reply or thread button.
For referencing images from the internet you don't really have to click the image button up there if don't want to. you can just enter the [IMG][/IMG] tag with URL in between.
But it does help if you get the formats mixed up, as HTML doesn't exactly work in forums, only certain BB codes.

If the URL you are on isn't a direct URL to the image you need, right click on the image and click copy image location, it will look like this

*note* Referencing images from the internet with [IMG][/IMG] tags still depends on the site to host it on keeping it up, so best to save the file then upload it as a attachment in the first method if you would like the image to last.
if you have issues doing so, come to this thread and practice by posting a reply that contains a image(appropriate images for forum only please or they will be removed)
Uploading to forum is a lot better then using other services like Image shack, or tinypic etc because they take down the images or move them which breaks the link a lot&that can present problems with helping people, even my guides fall prey to such things. in the end, hope this guide helps! remember to post if you have difficulty understanding this and or need practice to get it down.

manage attachments is most efficient way to manage things uploaded directly to forum without getting the weird un editable picture "stuck in your post" if you try deleting just the BB code of the image uploaded.
you have to delete the image in Manage Attachment area to fully get it out of your post.

Insert inline will place the attachment BB code of the images uploaded into the manage Attachments area into the field where the cursor to type is or at top of thread if nothing in thread selected

Thank you very much for this! I was at my wit's end trying to delete an unedited image I had erroneously posted, and your guide saved me! Thanks! +1
