No you do NOT have to refine the secondary Dagger.. also you do NOT have to enchant the dagger.. All you have to burn out is the Perfect X status for the secondary / Sub Weapon.. which yields the results of the Pictured Fusioned daggers stats.. this works for all essentially.. For those of a lighter wallet nature.. you can Abuse a Dragon Sword.. the Temporary ones.. it is about 600 to 800 less on stats Attacks.. but usable.. AND if worst case scenario.. you CAN fuse MORE then once.. But the new fusion takes precedence over the Old one. So start with dragon Sword if you desire..and then Push for that Frag X as the Main goal.
Also, the Main weapon is the only one that requires the enchant.. the Fused item stats attach to the main weapon and it automatically gains the Enchant boost from the main that it fused with.
