there are a lot of players giving them for free
someone gave me 1000 magic dust for free
They told me that to make you fall in love with me, I had to make you laugh...
But everytime you laugh, I'm the one who falls in love... -
you can get magic dust by doing Dungeons or you can just do what elsage said

Id advise not asking for it for free in world chat some people take that as begging and ignore you easily.
Try buying it for 1-5 silver each based on your server.
It drops from dungons and elite mobs so just kill monsters in afk ( grind ) overnightGame : Crystal Saga
