when it shows that just let it sit there for a little bit, it'll usually jump to either the character select screen or the loading bar depending on connection speed. sometimes will say failed to connect
at this point what I do is just refresh and give it time and it goes right to the character page. if you have already cleared your cookies a few ways to ensure they are gone don't do it again when trying to refresh- it'll have stored some data
(depending on your settings )

and it'll load the initial page better

mine is still the same on both browsers ... firefox and chrome ... although my flash is set to unlimited and cookies/cache cleared 3 times on both ...
