There's no set number of stars for a morph. All you can do is keep going until you succeed.

Well, you know how people say "it takes about 10 stars for.." yes? Each star increases your chances by a bit. If you're "lucky" you could get what you want in 1 click. So always go for it, buy a few stacks of morph crystal just in case
