i think it but maybe it would make high load or lag when you switch your class
example:
1.) you are battling while switching.
Effect:when after you switch you are dead because of slow loading.
2.)you are trading then you switch because you don't have platinums or golds
Effect:you might bug the weapons that your trading then other players will do it then it will make the CS dirty

how about you aren't allowed to be doing anything when you wish to change classes.
Or... Make some kind of NPC in a city (starglade?) that allows you to change classes(maybe for a fee) and then you have to refresh your game to make it work.
