Is the basic attack stuck in cooldown? Any screenshots you can provide would also assist in clearly portraying the problem. -

Have you tried removing it from your hot bar, then putting it back in? Just curious. Also is your basic attack set as your default in your skills window? If so try putting it as something else and then putting your basic attack back into your default area. My default attack has gotten stuck before and I had to remove it so that I had no default set, then refresh, then put it back and it worked again. That might not work for you, but it did for me. Just a suggestion.
If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?Comment

Should the issue continue occurring even after trying the suggestions provided by BlazingAngel, I would recommend you file a ticket here: http://support.r2games.com/.
