I'm not quite sure what you mean by this, if you could provide screenshots, it would be very helpful, thanks! When are you not able to see them, is it all the time, specific instances, etc...?

Are the two of you on the same instance? What I mean by this is if you look at the top left corner of the mini-map you will see an L1 or 2 etc. Make sure you are both on the same instance.
