friends logging into different dimension?!?!?!

hi me and my girlfriend are both logged into the same server (tundara) and are standing on what is essentially on top of each other but we can see each other any ideas whats going on

Are you on the same instance?
You can change instances at the top-left corner of your map.If you're in L1 while she is in L2,you will not be able to see her since you are in different instances.Also you might have hide players on.
