I've heard about April fools, but this, it seems like May fools. 2012 was not 2 days ago unless you got your laptop repaired during the last 6 months.

Lithium battery were probably defective. So yeah its possible for laptops to explode. And the power supply in the laptop mobo are probably the most likely to breakdown in a laptop.

ill explain , my laptop explode because i didnt turn it off in 2 weeks , cause i AFK attack it , so i can lvl it , in that day , i work , then when i arrived the laptop explode .....
