Question: Crit def?

How does Crit def works? How will it affect my defense against rogues or other chars with high crit? If there is a guide or discussion about this, can you please point me to that thread. I am just really curious about this, if it will improve the survival of my toon against rogues. Thanks in advance guys!

As far as I know, 10 crit def = 4% reduction. It is not multiplicative. In otherwords, it acts as negative crit dmg when calculating damage. So if the player attacking has 200% crit dmg and you have say 10% reduction, their crit dmg would then be 190%. Further testing shows that this reduction caps at 100% so any more crit def will not do anything.
Whether or not 10 crit def is really 4% reduction is another issue I couldn't bother to test. The only thing that backs this up is the tenacity test which for every skill point you add being 4% crit dmg reduction, gives 10 crit def.

There are other things to improve than this stat for pvp survivability.
