  • Enchanting Insurance Token

Like any other player when it comes to enchanting, it's one of those thing that I hate and rather not do. Why? Simple farm for months for the material have stacks upon stacks, only to end up with the same enchantment or lower. Maybe I have bad luck in this game, but having spent 540 Dragon Crystals on a Frag that was +11 and couldn't get it to +12. That put quite the damper on my want to play, so instead of coming here to complain I thought I throw this idea out to be discuss by the players. So, think of it like the Breeding Insurance Token, except for enchanting. You use the item if you fail you keep the enchantment you have.

So, here are your spoons to lick and think on:

    1. Would you want an item that would protect your current enchantment (preventing you from losing your current enchantment should you *la gasp* fail on it)?
    2. How far should this item go should we only have it protect to +13?
    3. How much would you be willing to pay? (Yeah, doubt it will be a item we can buy with gold)
    4. Would this item break the game?
    5. How many uses should get out of this item? (Have to purchase new one each time or get XX uses from the item)

Please keep from raging/complaining about it possibly being 'another cashing item'

All are welcome to post their own thoughts and idea about this, but please keep it civil. Trolls/flamers/hater will read, stared at and ignored

We should have some type of item cash or not.If we can Insurance breeding for pets why not enchanting for weapons?
the odds in this game is really awful .I would spend cash for this.

This is a good idea, but even just putting a safe zone at 9+ would make a world of difference. Thing with this is if there was an insurance token it would more than likely be a cash item and you enchants would fail still so you'd need tons of them. If they were a rare dungeon drop it could work. I'm personally waiting for DC to be un-nerfed again after using 100+ DC this week to go from 9+ down and back to 9+ I see no point in trying and wasting weeks and months of DC farmed from dungeons.

I definitely could use one of theses safety stones my self, I have a extremely bad luck with my lv 120 shield (God slayer shield) Iv used about 20 stacks of MECs on this item and have yet to get it +13 once, iv got it to +11 many times and same for +12 but never +13, forget frag being hard lv 120 items are just plain ridiculous!

Now even if this item is implemented im sure it will have the same cost as the other versions do which is at 9,999 xtals at that point I dont think it would be worth for a single enchant! Id rather take hard way then spend 100$ for a single enchant FYI.
            Char: BlackKnight(lvl 140 Eidolon Knight), Jellah(7x priest) Gimina(lv 5x mortal rogue)
            Server: Glacial Planes.
            Guild: Mortal Elites (Sage)

I agree with xXPesmergaXx I would like to see once you get item +9 not to fail back, I myself have gone from +12 on item back to +3. Not sure what the other games have as far as enchanting protection, I do know they have an item that when used is 100% success rate. I was thinking something along the lines of single use item with different quality for different enchantment levels. Like level 1 Insurance Token to protect your weapon from failing below lvl 7-8, would need lvl 2 for 9-10 etc. Should the enchantment fail you keep the enchantment but would have to acquire another Insurance Token.

Hmm interesting. (excuse my wall of text)

From my understanding, people only really enchant Frag's PVPgear and Top level PVEgear, and that's mostly to +5 with the exception of Frag's.
All you need is level 40, and you have a savage set, which is alot better at low levels anyway.
Im not all that familiar with the Eidolon enchanting stuff.
So it all boils down to END GAME ENCHANTING, these are the people who are interested in the "Enchant Insurance Item"

No one bothers with enchanting anything lower level, because its a waste of time and gold, people might get their savage set to +5 each time they upgrade it, but there seems to be really little in the way of necessary enchanting at lower levels.

And the main enchanting items like [Dragon Crystal's] are the problem, because people need sooo many of them.

If there was a slight increase in these in the game, or more events that incorporate these, then people would not care as much if they failed, because they can always get more.. eventually..
There is no need for an "Insurance Enchant Item" if the items you require to enchant were abundant.

The price of Dragon Crystal's on the SHOP.. are overpriced, i looked into upgrading my frag with DC from the shop.. and thought.. that is horrible price for enchanting my frag to upgrade it 1 time, and it might fail.
So i would never bother with buying SHOP enchant materials at the current price.

So my perspective on an "Insurance Enchant Item" is not good, i don't like it, if there were more options to get more materials to Enchant with, along with the cost of those items on SHOP decreasing, then there is no need for Insurance.

Another view is many server's are seeing alot of players quit, or server hop, which decreases the opportunity for players to find [Dragon Crystal's] causing the prices to go up ridiculously.
Over time you should be able to get what you want, regardless of fail, but what i see constantly is people taking the time to gather and buy all these in a big pile, then fail alot, and being left with alot of wasted time and gold and probably unable to start the grind again because they are so demoralized, which causes a game to not be a game anymore for them, the fun is over.

At some point, i would hope the people who create the Game can understand that there is no game without players, and if you put everything people need in the cash shop or cause them to take large amounts of time to get anywhere, then people stop playing and go somewhere else.
A BIG EXAMPLE: is the Heraldry, no need to say more about this.
                  • Enchanting is Luck, and if you cannot get the items you need to try your luck.. then you will get bored and frustrated, then will probably stop.
                  • Enchanting is Farming, and if you spent weeks/months/years farming, and cannot get the item you have been working for, then its not fun.
                  • Having people request an "Insurance Token" for Enchanting is a notice to people in development that the current system either needs to evolve or get better.
If this post tells you is "we need more gift pack items in cash shop" then i failed to make my point.
If all you think when reading this is "greedy players wanting free stuff" then i failed to make my point.
If you think "what has fun got to do with crystal saga" then i failed to make my point.
