I'd say it depends on your play style. Holy for massive heals, Blood for massive damage, and Hybrid for the best of both worlds.
Secondly, The best pet is any pet that you enjoy using. Obviously shop pets are gonna be better, but it's simple enough to just catch morphs, or even normal pets.
