need ranger help

yesterday i was bored and decided to try out a new skill build im full str am hybrid but i dont find much use for the right side of am skills so i got the left side of nature i was using escotics guide but i found no use for am right is this weird...next question what is a good pet for ranger?i originally wanted a ba but no one on the server sells fl eggs i have a sa now but not sure what else to do pet wise tomorrow il get white gryp so better stats..but those are the questions i wanted to ask
