Cant socket item

hello im going the quest socketing optional. i cant quit the quest nor use the rod. please help. char name is hopebaby on english server off of wildtanget games

Welcome to the forum.

Please follow these steps:

Open your Socket panel (button for this found in your Inventory).
Once your Socket panel is open, click and drag the item that you need to socket into the top box.
Now, click on the first box in the second row in the Socket panel. It will have a circle with a line through it.
Then, click Socket at the bottom of the panel.

You can click and drag a gem into the newly opened slot- the square that doesn't have a circle with a line through it.
