that happened to me twice before. the second time it happened all items slowly started to turn in to question marks, then the game went completely nuts and i was disconnected. "of course it a problem on our end"

Those items... are... questionable...

The game loads dummy images for white/green/blue, etc items.
When something wents wrong while loading the item icons (connection issue while loading the image), then the dummy doesn't get replaced.

Happened to me with my gems a bit ago, do not know exactly what happened.
what happens if you reload?

Probably graphics for keys didn't load correctly. If the problem exist after reloading consider deleting your browser cache.
