how do i give my friends gifts and letters

To gift someone, add them to your friends list. Then, open the Friends list to see which gift they want, like in the picture:
If you have that type of gift in your inventory, then click Gift.

You get the gifts for your friends from killing level appropriate bosses in dungeons. For example, if you are around level 35, then you will get gifts from Revenant's Vault.
