I was wondering when we will be able to use the bound and unbound versions together when upgrading? Currently, they are not recognized together when trying to socket.

You can only use the bound with bound and the unbound with unbound as of now. However perhaps a future patch update will ad the option to unbound Sperion Socketing Rod Shards similar to how Socketing Rods can get unbound at the Event Master.
