I think this could be done and it not take too much time from our wonderful game masters. 
Particularly since quite of bit of it could be some of the costumes, events, etc. from the 4th of July. Since the presidential elections only come once every four years though it would be nice to have something special for the week of the elections.

Collect a certain number of the Constitution that drops from level 30+ monsters and redeem them for Patriotic Packs
Planting apple trees
Special sale on crystals, maybe a 25% bonus like with Halloween on the day of elections.
Just some thoughts I'd figure I'd share.
