Won't be much of an effort to include something like this to your weekly maintenance announcement:

Last chance! The following items will be removed from the shop during today's patch:

Also please be bring back the Hydra mount, by far the most epic shop mount that's ever been released in CS.

Having a "last call" would be concenient for players who are hoping to purchase but are waiting for events such as Points of Interest or It Pays to Consume. Can't say it's something they'll actually do as they tend to leave off important patches even now (I.E. new Tenet levels).
