In crystal saga the Aura's around the person should be hidden too when you select to hide effects.

Technically, hiding effects does hide auras. The flaw in the system is that it only hides auras for players on your map/line at the time you enabled it. The system doesn't apply the same coverage for players who later teleport to your location or switch to your instance. Although tedious, disabling and re-enabling the setting when such occurs will correct your problem, however temporary that will be. All-in-all, the whole setting itself needs to be revamped due to additional effects that have been added since the more basic days.
