Probably another suggestion I make that never gets a reply, but here goes nothing.
I know (and agree) that people selling in-game items for real life cash is against the rules. After all, why should someone earn money for your licensed game?
But what I don't get is why, apparently according to recent forum posts, it'd be against the rules to sell crystals/vip for in-game gold. After all, you're getting the money regardless of who gets to have VIP/crystals.
I know there was some reasoning about scamming, but that seems silly since people get scammed buying/selling cash items all the time and - as far as I know - that's still allowed.
So I think it should be allowed, but with 2 implementations to reduce scamming.
Implementation 1: Turn VIP and Xtals into inventory items. I know it's possible since your current promotion adds the 25% using an inventory item, so why not turn VIP and Xtals into one? It wouldn't be that hard to implement. When someone buys VIP/Xtal, there can be a checkbox for "get Gift Item". People who check this receive their vip/xtal as an item. These items are not tradeable (but they might be sellable), instead they're Escrow-able.
Implementation 2: Escrow
Escrow would be a type of trade that does not require players to be near each other and does not cancel itself upon refresh/disconnect. If anything, it's more like a special inventory for trading cash items. Escrow would only be for players that are mortal lvl 50+ or scion (any level). To ensure it doesn't affect lag, only 2 escrows can be connected at the same time and there is a limitation of 3 items and gold for trade per escrow.
How it works:
Player 1 requests escrow. Player 2 accepts escrow. Now an escrow inventory (like I said 3 item slots and gold) is available. Players can put items into the escrow inventory and it'll take the items away from their real inventory, but will not trade the item. Once a player feels the escrow is met, he/she clicks "start trade" and the other player can either accept if he/she feels everything is in order or reject. Rejecting doesn't cancel the escrow, but it doesn't let it move forward. Eventually both players agree and only then will the items be transferred. If an escrow trade is canceled, the items go back to their respective inventories (or temp inventory if full).
By having these 2 implementations, all players now have access to casher and vip events without affecting R2's bottom line and without the worry of being scammed.
Thank you for reading, have a good one.
