item shards

Hello, i have a Q about item shards. So where to use them if i already have that item? It's impossible to sell them, so they just takes place in my inventory.
Or maybe we will have an exchange events?

So far there isnt any use for them as yet :/
Maybe in the future something will come up with the shards maybe a sell option like you said
