I'm trying to figure out how to decrease the size of my screenshot so that I can post the images. However I won a Valkyrie emblem for trade in through the new beach event. I can clearly see the emblem in my inventory however, when I go to exchange it in the recruiting area, it says I don't have the item in my inventory??

If you have the Valkyrie crest and want to recruit her, please get the required herosouls ( 1.500 Topaz herosouls ) and then you will be able to recruit her.

I have the actual valkyrie crest, I synthesized it with 100 valkyrie shards. I also have 1500 ruby recruiting souls... the valkyrie crest is in my inventory however, when I go to the recruitment area, it says I am lacking the valkyrie crestComment

If you have the CREST in inventory and the 1.500 souls, you can recruit her.

you are supposed to be able to recruit the ruby heroes WITHOUT ruby souls, so long as you have synthed the ruby hero emblem.. well I have the emblem.. but when I got recruit it says it's not in my inventoryComment

First of all it's a Topaz hero, not Ruby.
Second, all heroes require hero-souls ( Valkyrie requires TOPAZ, meaning orange ) herosouls, 1.500.
Once you have that, and the crest ( even if it shows that you don't have ) you can recruit her.
You can't recruit heroes by having just their crest.
