Shouldnt, just your character be opposite gender, and thats it

when you change gender, do you also have the option to change name

no, it just changes gender. there is no name changing for your main in this game.

Only your gender gets changed, your name and stats stay the same. If you are married ingame you would have to divorce to change gender.
