Sometimes say's :''Event finished''. I have refreshed browser and they are gone.

1. boxes have a time limit
2. amount of legendary epic rare and common is limited, if all are taken by other players u won't get anything

Yes Boxes have a limit. First come first serve. I miss it all the time.
