Character gone ?

Well someone suggested I should report this (obviously),

so I use the R2 client. I wanted to log into S281 (a server that's merged with S284), but it doesn't log into my character or anything and I have looked thoroughly if I maybe looked wrong,
refreshed client etc, but it makes me start all over at the beginning. I hope this is a temporary mistake/bug?
