There's a system for placements based on which arena group you were in and where you ranked (e.g. top rank in their arena group are always at the top of each of the eight brackets) but I don't know more details than that - that's just what Tokkie told me. >.> I can take a look next Domination and try to figure it out but that'll be a few days. It's probably still basically random since you can't decide which arena group you're going in.
