Create an Effective Party

Hi Guys Thanks for all the help u've given me.Need some advice as I'm trying to figure out an effective fighting party.

I have the following heroes in my party

1: Hunter Main character lvl 54 with Celestial Seraphim (51000 BR) -- found it weird that Seraphim's halo does not have an MATK slot.does that mean a Mage wont really help in the party ?
2: Shadowraith lvl 53 (33000 BR)
3: Zweihander lvl 50 (just kept him until i get a stronger hero -- 10800 BR)
4: NetherKnight lvl 53 (i've kept this one as my main meleee (but he dies pretty fast dunno why ? 47000 BR)
5: Pyrona lvl 52 ( 29000 BR)

I'm trying to figure out how to be a stronger attacker but have a decent defense atleast.

problems : wanna buy either the night sentinel or the djinni (want both but no topaz stones yet so have to make do with one for a week or so)

Not sure if Pyrona is good enough so I can go for Night Sentinel and upgrade him big time to have a stronger attack.
My Nether knight dies pretty fast(Yeah i know he is attacked first but still , even at level 54 one or two attacks kills him -- I have HP , PATK , MDEF , BLOCK AND END gems in his sockets(nope not all of the sockets are open)

My own attack doesn't seem too powerful .. even tho I have learned and upgraded many skills.

Any suggestions are appreciated...also if you could point me to some guides..
I still get confused about the different gems and how to use them for my specific heroes..

Thanks so much for your answers.A few followups

Isn't Astral child a tier one mage...? I was trying to pair up topaz level heroes

so i thought night sentinel , djinn and nether night would be a good combo ...with seraphim ....

also what does this mean ?
"Think about collecting HoC cards from now, to get 1200 and to get HoC hero, I would suggest LE. Sooner will start collecting- sooner will get the hero."

what are HOC cards and what's LE ?
