Unfortunately there's no bug.
Some people can evolve it using very less seraphs, while others use the max amount.

I have been through this more than 10 times already. i have about 15 angels in total. the worst is ungodly upgrade. Spend about 24k stones or more just on one upgrade.Comment

higher the evo grade the more stone to evo it but the % +/- of mid way is random same crappy randomness from a terrible RNG so at higher grade if get unlucky it will just consume tons and tons of stones.
i have had a spree of 5 evo in a row of 95%+ globe filled then x2 of about 40% filled my 7>8 evo cost me 20k stones but 8>9 cost me 11k .. that is how this game works...Comment
