  • Phoenix Wings...Again

For what is at least the fourth, if not more, Lorelei's Wardrobe event, Phoenix Wings are the item that ends up being free for Aureus. Given that everyone and their dog should have the wings by now given the abundance of Aureus and how often these things are offered, it's time to spice things up and add a new item to be free with Aureus. It doesn't have to be anything great, just an item that we have never seen for free; anything but those wings will do. I have 15 pairs of the wings, since they are the only way to spend Aureus (still pulling 35k+ of these things). A change is long overdue.

If a new item is too difficult to offer for Aureus only, then I suggest adding a "cash-out" option on the Aureus. Since they are "worth 1 diamond" (direct quote from in-game description), then offer an exchange 1 Aureus for 1 diamond. Problem solved.

Two suggestions...I think the first one is pretty reasonable, though I wouldn't mind the second.

It can be done, there is no trick or glitch just legal exchange, but of course we are all enemies here so just giving a hint should be enough for an enemy

Hints are: sometimes it gives 240-480 diamonds too, gives 900 vouchers and sometimes it gives 5k diamond as bonus, it takes about 3-5 wardrobe events to get the gem thou because i got my last gem 4 wardrobes ago

There are much easier ways to get a level 7 fuse gem that take a whole lot less time, though if getting rid of Aureus is your motive this isn't a bad option. The point of my post is not that we need to be allowed to turn Aureus into other items (the diamond suggestion is purely a joke), it's that of the 44 current clothing and wing items in the game, the same exact one is being offered over and over. I have a good portion of the clothing/wing items so I don't care what they switch it to, just that they should switch it.

This copy/paste of events is the real issue. The rewards aren't changing to match what players want or need. It starts with Lorelei's wardrobe and soon it will be Tycoon where even the top rewards are useless (for instance all the people whose inventories are flooded with the old heroic gear they gave out every Tycoon; you only need 6 void/genesis armours and the 4 extra aren't doing anything). Have to keep the developers accountable and make sure they keep upgrading and improving the rewards for events.

The problem is: They won't. Long as the cashers cash, they have no reason to change anything. It's actually a very smart, and same time, very stupid business model. The cashers cash, no reason to change, but that also doesn't invite non-cashers, who may think about a recharge or two, to actually do it. The smarter business model, would be for GT/r2 to show on a more regular basis, that they care about all their players, not just those who pay their car and house payments.

The mid and end year reviews are awesome for all. The diamond roulette is great. Not sure if they're doing one of those monthly 7 day events for father's day this month where we might get a legend equip or two, or some fairies, those are awesome as well. But things like Lucky Tree, Prismatic Wheel, Tycoon, HoC, etc. are for the casher elite only, leaving everyone else out to dry, unless you have the patience to save resources for 6+ months to take a stab at something. Oh wait, cashers can do in 1 day what it took you 6+ months to save for.

For a while, they had those 30 day events where everyone could get a cloth/wing. How about doing that with the older outfits we haven't seen anywhere for 8 months. What happened to the Legacy cloth? The medieval armor? Haven't seen the Silver fox in a while, and I'd LOVE to get my hands on a Deadly Shadow.

But sadly, while the cashers do their thing, GT/r2 has no reason to change what they're doing. So do what most of us have done, and just be used to the "We <3 our cashers and pretty much sc.rew the rest of you." mentality they have. It's better for your sanity.

You say all this but this "business model" is the exact same business model EVERYONE in the world uses. Look at the auto industry for example: There are cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Cadillac, Mercedes that all have very expensive models available to purchase. Can everyone afford one of these cars? No way. The rest of the world buys Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Honda. That is how the world operates. What you're saying is that these expensive car companies should really look out for all the poor people in the world because they can pay about $1,000 dollars and that they matter too. That makes no sense. I don't know why everyone always complains about things costing money in games. It's exactly the same every where you look.

Written like a true casher. I don't think you read anything past the third sentence before you started typing. So after you read this next sentence, you'll realize your attempt at argument has no weight, and makes no sense, ready?

Last time I checked, cars aren't free. This game is.

So now that you understand your braincells weren't functioning while you were typing, let's use your example.

Ford wants Chevy's customers to buy from them, and not Chevy. So what does Ford do? They have a massive sale event. $5000 off this car, 0% interest for 36 months, and at *Insert dealer name here* we're also having a big GIVEAWAY. Whether it's something as small as a cookout with free burgers, dogs, chips and drinks, to as large as Visa/Mastercard gift cards or flat screen TVs. So now that Ford has Chevy's former customer, what does Ford do to keep that customer? Free oil changes for the life of the car, discounted routine maintenance, a big time warranty for other major problems that occur with the car. And while your car's in our shop, you don't have to take the bus, we'll GIVE you a FREE loaner car.

Grocery stores do the same thing. Store A wants the customer from store B. "Hey, we have a sale, we're cheaper than store B, and we have a bigger selection than them too." So customer goes to Store A instead of store B. Once there, Store A doesn't want the person to go back to store B, so they say hi when they see them, ask them how they're doing, how's the kids? *If you have any* They have cookouts during the summer months, and at least around here, stores have FREE raffles for big giveaways.

So how does that equate to this game? I'll use another game as an example.

I've played MapleStory for a bit over 7 years now. It's also free to play. But unlike here, they constantly show they care about their people, free or paid. They make a new hero, you don't have to buy it. Just need an empty character creation slot. Don't have an open slot? Here's a free slot expansion coupon you usually have to purchase in the cash shop, FREE of charge. They give out stuff from the cash shop all the time, not in usually large amounts of course, but they give them away.......so they actually care about the people that play their game? Cool, I'll drop some money into them to make myself better. 6 years and over $75k later, all 14 of my characters hit the max 50 mill per hit damage.

I could do that here if I wanted to, but I don't cash a game if they don't care about ALL of their player base. And having one of these little events every 4-6 months doesn't cut it for me. Over 90% of the player base doesn't cash, maybe some can't, but many don't want to. Why give money to a game that doesn't give 2 squats on the toilet that you're even here? Have you noticed the number of dead servers in the game? How many they've had to merge, and soon will have to do more of? Gee, I wonder why. [/sarcasm]

On another point of yours, I have never complained that certain things here cost money. They have to pay their employees, and pay their utility bills for the building they're in. Goes for any free game, they have to do something to pay their people. And you who want to cash in this game, have every right to. You want to one-hit every wolf in Gauntlet, or do 300 mill. damage to the new and improved WB, have fun. My point is, always has been, and always will be, that unless GT/r2, or any other company keeps showing they don't care about their ENTIRE player base, they'll not make the money they could be, and will keep losing players like a sift until it finally fizzles out and dies. Have a great day peeps.

I think you misunderstood my argument. I was not using cars as an example because I thought cars were free. My point was that every company in the world is looking to make a profit. Trying to say this game is F2P is kind of a joke. It is a well known fact that if you want to be in the least bit competitive you will need to spend at least a little each month. Even true F2P players will often use up as many Free Diamond offers as they can in order to stay competitive. My point is this: GTArcade is just like any company out there no matter what the business is. They are here to make a profit. Any company besides Non-profits and charities who try to tell you they are not out for profit, that all they want is to provide a good customer service, is full of poo. Games which are truly free to play use advertisements and other methods to make their profits. They just keep their overhead low enough to be able to maintain the games while not needing to charge players. Game companies nowadays have realized that there are literally millions of players who are completely willing to drop THOUSANDS of dollars toward their in game character. So, I ask you: Why would anyone in their right mind not create a game to collect all the money people are willing to spend??? It is a perfect example of a free market. There is a demand for strong characters and a willingness to pay for it so therefore suppliers provide that for them. Let's see from a managerial standpoint.. I can either make millions from players willing to pay, or I can make thousands from using advertisements only and try to be Mr. nice guy who gives everything away for free. Hmmm... really hard decision.
