How to counter a troop that has underwent Element training?

I'm short on elemental crystals. But my GEM build is relatively a lot better than this person I can't beat. She's a Mage. Her basic and advance stats are *****. We are both level 48. Would a lot of Dodge and MDEF counter her?

If no, apart from getting elemental crystals, is there a way to counter the Elemental damage?

The result of a battle doesn't depend only on elemental crystals. Skills used, gems (and not just their quality but also what kind they are) and other stats matter a lot. But most important are heroes and formation. Dodge and END might help countering her, but I would suggest to give more information about stats and heroes for better advice.
