Buffs are active until their timers next to them are reset to 0. Doesn't matter if you're online or not, as long as a buff timer is active the buff exists.

And out of the chaos, a voice spoke:
"Smile and be happy, for it can always be worse".
And I smiled, and I was happy, and it did get worse.
