Upgrade from fury to thunderclap

This morning I upgraded my characters ring of fury to a thunderclap ring and it disappeared on me. It is no longer equipped and it isnt anywhere in my inventory. I have upgraded other fury items before with no issue. Is this something other players have experienced with this round of chaotic expedition.?
