  • Nontraditional party idea

I was thinking of starting a new character and going the duo route--only one other hero. (May even try soloing until lvl 45, when the first topazes become available.)

What 1st-tier topaz hero would people suggest? With only two, I don't think Djinni heals enough to justify. Atalanta may be too situation-specific. So, should I take Nether to tank, or Sentinel for damage? Arguments for Djinni and Atalanta would be appreciated as well. And no, I haven't picked a main class yet.

depends of the class ur gonna choose prolly

Okay, my first thought was Sentinel if I run Pally, and Nether for the other five. But does Berserker need a tank? Plus, I'm not familiar with the HP progression of the two archer subclasses.

Why would you do this? Won't it be too hard for you to even play. Against others who have a full party and you don't? Seems like you either going spend a buttload of diamonds, or your game play is going be so gimped that you will end up quitting it or changing back to the traditional party set up.

I don't know--that's kinda why I want to try this. For PvE, it probably will be a bit tough. But for PvP? My main and hero should be built up enough (because I'm spending all my gold/soulstones/blessed stones/etc. on my mount and my one hero) that the other player's heroes do little more than increase my rage. They may even take multiple angel hits.

How many times in PvP does it come down to main vs. main after one or two angel hits, especially once we have Boadicea and higher? I want to focus my resources on a single hero so that it can almost be as strong as my main. Think of all the gems and dragonsouls we need for a party of five; now imagine those synthed down for a party of two. Or this: a topaz hero at Orange +10 and upgraded to mid-teens at lvl 45 or 46, because I spent all my resources on one hero instead of four?

Again, I don't know how it's gonna turn out yet, which is why I want to try. Other than VIP, I don't plan on spending any additional diamonds--and that's only because I have some left-over credits on another hosting site. [shrugs] Que sera, sera. So, any suggestions on main or topaz hero selection (or even ruby hero selection to replace the topaz, once I hit lvl 61 in five to six weeks) is welcome.

I already did that to my alts
here is an example of 4 people party, those heroes are weak, soulstones/bless stones focused on mount

Thank you, lezickh. That was helpful. Do you think soloing is more effective than adding one hero?

I'm asking because if I solo, I have nowhere to use any Element dust I pick up.

That's my problem too, but when I reach lvl 60 I'm planning to get 1 ruby hero then focus all the element dust on that hero.
In my opinion focusing on main hero have advantages on higher lvls because the party dies with 1-2 angel hits anyways

lol just get all heroes to complete your whole party, what you are thinking is nonsense you can focus on your main hero and 1 sub hero also. the others are just a catcher of attacks and skill. if you are a f2p player focusing on mount first is a must thats the only way to cover up your squishiness because of the absence of wings and clothes. while doing that you can upgrade also your 1 sub main hero from you party so you may inherit that soon to your ruby.

Mugi, I see your point about prioritizing main plus one or two heroes (Raichu's guide comes to mind), but recruiting other heroes and upgrading a second hero takes resources away from upgrading the first hero (or just the mount, if soloing). Yes, having meat shields is a good idea, but I'm not sure the cost is worth it. I suppose I could just get all four Opals for cheap...

So, let me change up my original question. Assuming I still want to try a nontraditional party format, should I:

                      1) Solo all the way

                      2) Have one tank/glass cannon, constantly upgrading (1st-tier garnet as soon as I can afford, 1st-tier topaz at lvl 45, etc.)

                      2a) Tank or glass cannon?

                      3) Solo until lvl 45, then #2

                      4) Solo until lvl 61, then pick up a ruby (again , see #2)

                      5) Acquire all four Opals and do not upgrade, and have them act as ablative armor

just recruit mermaid and roseknight, just use them as a damage catcher. it's your decision whether to recruit one topaz or garnet, for me night sentinel focus all elemental to him then recruit berserker claw next time. or you can also recruit nereida first than claw for rage and buffs then recruit claw. lvl61-63 you will have 2 ruby heroes i suppose. just focus to your main hero first till you get 200k br and you have stable main hero to stay longer in battle.
