I never make alts on servers, I only made on oceanic and made on the first ( oldest ) one to have no issues with other servers ( hot events, for being newer, they get first time some different events, and that's kinda confusing ).
I don't do anything on there, log on, check events, refresh for new stuff ( tycoon/beach/angel treasure/angel exclusive ) and log off ( and checking halloween/thanksgiving stuff to see how the server is doing, yes. )
Mostly, I'll still like to see the reasons why people would like a merge.
I don't know how your server works, how many alts are, but I am pretty sure there is still activity, and that's due to those alts playing by other persons.

Well unless they address the issue where merge server gets a new starting date, which lets them participate in newer cross server tourney bracket, there is a pretty big advantage for very old server to get merged.

mate and friend right? OO i know they are people -_-, in other word other players. Its total different with AI . MMORPG is player interact with other regardless riva,l enemy, no one, friend, mate, or your dear . RPG is AI its just like happen to us, i . never chat , cant be PM, never answer -_- but they are active. A zombie? ?. okey..... simple we just need people to interact, do our daily , etc.
