Not really, think it's more because they moved the reward collection time so there's a "dead zone" of sorts. Rewards = 00:00 server time/ranks reset (which is when you can start spending attempts again since they're locked from 23:00-00:00) and then the "new" day's attempts come @00:15-00:20

By pass the conversion to PATK and convert your level 9's to MATK. Six level 9's will make one level 11. When clicking on your level 11 in synth tab, use "Craft" button. Save yourself some gold.
