If you read the ToS you will see that R2 state that any toon created and all of its accessories etc remain the property of R2, not in those words of course, but that is the gist.

Normally I'm all for giving players 2nd chances but considering how the exploit worked and how you had to set it up specifically with the intention of cheating I think the punishment is more than fine. ( I can see maybe 0.1% of the people that used the cheat did it by complete 100% "accident" and they got maybe 3-5 of 1 type of gem extra, for that type of player punishment is definitely not ok, but no idea if someone had things removed fitting in this category)
