When I get off work imma have to take a look at this guide. I briefly read it & it did go over a few good points. Like one of the post above, being active has a huge role to play also..but it isn't the only thing to do to becoming OP. Good guide so far from what I read

Well, as an Eidolon Priest lvl 100+, I don't agree with you.
I'm not a real casher, just VIP and from time to time a 4.99$ pack when there are some special bonus (mainly used in SS, wedding and some pets, but I haven't spent more than 130$). If you build your Priest well, it will be a good toon. Not the super OP type, but fairly OP, and that can dominate quite well.
The super hard mages, for example, the kind who just aoe and kill 10-20 players just like that, they fear me because I can just one-two shot them, like they also do (it's usually the first who hits that wins).

The difference between the strong and weak is of course mounts, gear, frag, etc., but that's just a matter of time. Since I'm not a casher it took me some time to get my Hellwing, good wings, but eventually everybody gets there.
What's important is to work on soul right away and upgrade what's important, what your toon needs to get stronger faster (not like a little Priest that I knew who saddened me: he kept upgrading his movement speed to kite/run away faster... Useless). I see some people level 90 Eidolon, with not even 1k soul, and I wonder what the hell they've been doing. I've worked on my soul as soon as it got released, that's why I've always been part of the top, even though I'm a Priest which is said a super bad class on this guide.
Priests are just different, and they're the kind to seem really good when everybody's a mortal, then weak, and finally not so bad when you know how to use them, what to upgrade, how to build them.
