  • [Guide] Tamalan Arena By Linachan

    Hello Crystal Saga Player.
like some ppl. wanted that i make here a Small Guilde for Tamalan Arena here is it.

So I will make a Small Guild for Tamalan Arena.
Tamalan Arena is at 17:00 to 17:30 (Server time)
max ppl 20 / Arena (if more join it will just Open L2,L3...)
here are the Highest Badge Rewards.
All Player & Class are Nearly equall.
a low lvl Mortal can beat a lvl 100 Scion if he can Play Tamalan Arena "good"
the EQ dont count ONLY!!!!! the Move speed.

the Only Class who have here an Advance is the Priest class lvl 50+ whis the Passiv Skill 10% HP heal ever 10 sec.
(a little bit unfair but... maybe it will someday changed from the R2 Support)
Dont Worry to much, you can kill a player in 5 sec or faster
if you dont belive me, ask the Server/World Chat who have play a few times at the Tamalan Arena

so if you say it Short:
it is Nearly Equall and your Player Skills Count and not your High End EQ!! (thats one of the Few Reasons why you dont
see so much High lvl Player inside there)

Sooo now what everybody want to know. is it worth ?

make you one Chose worth or not!!

the Rewards are Honor, Bronze Badge, Silver Badge, Gold Badge

for your first Reward you need a Minimum of 50 Points than you get 5 Bronze Badge.

for More Points you get more and better Rewards.

    240+ = 3 Gold Badge, 10 Silver Badge , 30 Bronze Badge 200 Honor
    190-239 = 1 Gold Badge, 5 Silver Badge , 20 Bronze Badge 150 Honor
    ?-189 = 3 Silver Badge 10 Bronze Badge
    50-??= 1 Silver 5 Bronze Badge

    How to Get Points ?
there are 2 option to get Points.
First. After your are in the Battle Field you get 1 Point every 20 second.
second. you get 2 Points for Killing a Player.

    Arena:

    Shortet to only 10.000 Chars /post -.-"""

Things what you "maybe" need to Know:

you will get Damge of 5% every 3-6 sec(its not a fixed time) if you are in the Tamalan Arena.
you will get extra 5% dmg every 1 sec if you are in the Lava(the Red thing what you see in the pictures above)
there are 3 NPC inside the Battle Ground. What they do ? dont know they just Standing there...
you CANT see the "real" HP of the Other Players. you see only the remain HP after YOUR!! skill hited
you get only a Kill if you realy killed that Player so if you hited him and he went to the Lava or get his 3-6 sec dmg trigger you will not get the Kill points/Badge
If you disconnect in tamalan arena, you can re enter, but your skills will be gone and your score will be reset(Reset only AFTER enter, so if you Disconnect clam your points reward and THAN Enter again)
even if you are dead in tamalan you still get score points (scoring 1 point every 20 seconds). This alone can get you a score high enough to get 1 silver badge / 5 Bronze badge

    Hints for Playing:

    1:

every Movespeed what you can get will help you!!!
so, befor you enter aktive the Titel what give you Movespeed, Like Hellfire Horst(+10 move speed)
eq you your full Honor EQ. even if its only the lvl 40 green. you get move speed from the boots and for wearing a full set.
    because EQ is not counted
it will Help you more wearing the full Honor set(move speed Bonus) as wearing a full +13 high lvl EQ(no movespeed, no Help in Tamalan Arena)

    2:

    Aiming:
Aim not exactly at other Player (like Liniar Skills) if the Player is Moving. because some Skills need to "fly" so if he runs and maybe he is fast. u just will Miss everytime. so think where he will run and aim/shot to there.

    3:

    Help:
its not so easy to get full 100% down of a player whis just your skills so let the Lava help you
just Throw/Push the other Player's inside the Lava that they will get extra damge. than you dont need to shoot down the full 100%.

so thats the Most Important parts of the Tamalan Arena.
    in Short.

u need 1G,Buy skills the 4 Skills what u want to use ea 5 times, enter Battle, Kill Other Player, earn Badge, Upgrade you skills, Kill more Player. get more Points and get your High Rewards what u have looked for

The Best / effectiv Skills ?
Don't Ask me there is no skill where you say "thats the best one" or "thats the effectiv" or "lol why you dont use this one ?"

    there IS NO BEST SKILLS!!!!

every skill have his Advance and Disadvance.

so just try out ALL skills at level MAX !!!
and after a few Play's you will have your one "best 4 Skills" whis what you can play your best game / get your Highest Points.
    why level max ?
because lvl 1 and lvl 5/max are big Differents !!!
    example:
the skill Death from the Line Categorie
    lvl 1: 1% dmg CD 10
    lvl 5: 20% dmg CD 10

do you see the Different ?!
the same will be whis Invisible, or Immun to attack. if you are only for 1 or 2 sec Immun/invisible, you dont relay have an advance but if its 6+ sec u will see it.
6 sec sounds very short ?
if somebody Aktiv for example the Shield what makes him immun to your Attacks and you are waiting that the 7 sec runs out. it will let you feel like it is a half eternity till the Shield os off again...

if you have some more Infos for me to put it inside here
or if i have make mistakes
or you just say its all wrong here / its bullshi... than just tell me and i will correct it.

    Qustion's/Notes:
1.-outline how people can farm their alts in tamalan if no one shows up for gold badges
2.-outline how priests can use their angelic blessing to their advantage
    3.
or the ~ helps you lock on to targets to see their hp if you injured them before.
    4.
-because of general screen layouts, it is often very difficult to attack at max range vertically. Generally, its easier to see whats right and left of your character, and its very difficult to see whats above you and below you.
5.Team tamalan - surprisingly, people have formed teams in tamalan before, and what they do is this: they hurt everyone other than their team members. The idea of this is to increase killing power, and effectively allows 1 group to control tamal. Soloist would inevitably fail unless they decide to work together.
6.Forgotten to mention, because of priests angelic blessing, they have a very strong opening. And because the tamalan arena fights usually starts off with low level moves, its very hard to kill a priest in the beginning. What are your recommendations on dealing with priests in the beginning 1v1?
7.Some enemies like to commit suicide to avoid giving points to their opponents. Of course, its a lose-lose situation
8....but provide some ideas or recommendations. Ideally, recommend sets for attacking noobs, and for attacking pros.
    9. why not Exact 1.000.000 HP?

    Answer's:
    1. to Farm your alt its realy easy. i would say go inside the Battle Ground and let you stand your alt at the Lava so he get's dmg. for the Char who will farm just sit(heal your HP) next to it and wait till hp is 150-200k than use the Skill Death (20% dmg )

2.its a Passiv Healing skill, i dont play a Priest but i think the only thing that they can do is Survivel. because of the Arena auto-Dmg they normaly cant heal them self up to 100% whis only the Passiv skill, but still unfair.
how to use it as a Big Advance hard to say, because its just a passiv healing. the one thing what you can say is. if they dont get attacked they will Survivel much Longer than All other classes.

3.here you need to say that u only see the HP what they have got the lasttime you have hitted them and NOT the HP what they realy have.
example: you have hittet somebody to 30% hp down. somebody killed him. the Person go inside the Battle ground again, whis his 100% hp. but if you Klick on him for you it still will be show only the 30% and not the truh 100%

4.thats truh and u have some Disadvance to about/below but look it the other way. the Other player have the same Problem.
what could help (helps me a lots) "hide" the Other player. you cant see the class / wings but you have much more and better view than befor.

5.Team Play is one of the Key's to Get much Points but Also Lose/dont get Much points.
whis Teams you have both. Advance and Disadvance.
Advance: if you form Team you dont need to Fear that this Player will attack you and you can Concentrate to other Enemys.
Disadvance:you CANT "create" a party inside the Arena(or i just dont know how) so even if you form an Inderekt Party you still can get hitted from your "party member"
if your "party" is 4 or even more ppl. you will lose much of Points because you need to Concentrate Much more "oh this one i can attack , oh not him.. oh not him ... oh not him.."

6.only at the beginning Priests have a Big Advance. Here are two options that have been proven
6.1. just avoid them at the beginning. if you are a beginner i would say till you have 2-3 skills max.
6.2. use the Ice Skill from the Liner and Push them into the Lave. the CD is only 2 sec so they CANT go back to the land.
if they are permanent in the Lava they only heal them self 1 time. Later in the game after 5-10 mins. you do so much dmg(whis Pushing in the Lava) that they dont even heal themself because of fast dead.

7.at the Beginning its not realy 100% a Lose-Lose Situation.
because all have still low level skills and for a kill they would get 10 Badge. so if you die from Lava/arena dmg you will helping your Enemy to need more time to Upgrade His Skills.

8.noobs/pros. here i can only say. the Lower the Movespeed of your Enemy the more easyer its to kill him. because he cant run fast from you away the most of the time are this player's the "noob's"
so try to hunt them. even if a Player is a Pro whis Tamalan Arena and you are just the Avarage you still have a Big Advance again him if you have High Move speed.
High Move speed's. its very hard to kill ppl whis very high movespeed. just try to Ignor them. they can easly run away from you so that you CANT attack/hit them.
VS "normal" Pro's. Pro's Normaly use they skill/range to the Skill Limit's. and know exacly "ok now skill 3 now skill 6 and now skill 1" so u need to Work on your Player's Ability to Work against it cant realy give you a big Hint here :/

    9. maybe its just the Server HP limit or so. yes it would be a little bit Better to have exact / fixed 1.000.000 HP than this 1.041.231 or what ever because the Skills hit % dmg and % is "rounded" if its a Lower Number
sometimes you or your Enemy Survivel whis only 1-100HP and thats just LOL!!.. even if Survivel whis 100HP WHAT Skill do 0.01% dmg ?! ^^

    Personaly Point Record:
    459

This is a very good guide indeed. Detailed, and definitely outlines the important information about moves. I never used the support moves or stuff, but I can definitely confirm the linear moves are accurate. It's hard to confirm range because I wouldn't know how to put a number on it, but the picture on range looks accurate.

      Well several things:
-If you disconnect in tamalan arena, you can re enter, but your skills will be gone and your score will be reset.
      -work on spelling a bit
-recommend skill sets that one should bring in the fight and give rationale as to why the set works. Yes, there is no best skill sets because the your ability to use them determines your success in tamalan arena, but provide some ideas or recommendations. Ideally, recommend sets for attacking noobs, and for attacking pros.
-outline how people can farm their alts in tamalan if no one shows up for gold badges
-outline how priests can use their angelic blessing to their advantage
-scion mages have a potential of dealing passive dmg even when dead (another random thing)
-dead players in tamalan whom afk can still score points (scoring 1 point every 20 seconds). This alone can get you a score high enough to get 1 silver badge, and some bronze.
` or the ~ helps you lock on to targets to see their hp if you injured them before.
-because of general screen layouts, it is often very difficult to attack at max range vertically. Generally, its easier to see whats right and left of your character, and its very difficult to see whats above you and below you.
-go over edge guarding of when to use it and when not to use it (when opponent is almost dead, don't edge guard)

Another random concept: pursuer and pursued system
Basically, when you pk someone in tamalan arena, there is a high chance that the victim will try and seek revenge. In tamalan arena, I learned that if you can identify your pursuers, its best to down them first before trying to attack anyone else. The rationale: take down any threats so you last longer before going after random people. If you kill one person, expect that person to come back hunting for you, so my recommendation is to spawn kill them again if you see them.

Don`t lose sight of your kill - its important to kill your targets before someone else kill steals you or before they try and commit suicide in tamalan arena. Losing a kill is almost like forfeiting points, and more points often leads to better prizes.

Some enemies like to commit suicide to avoid giving points to their opponents. Of course, its a lose-lose situation, but people do it anyways, so when someones is almost dead, try to kill them fast and don`t let them jump into lava.

Team tamalan - surprisingly, people have formed teams in tamalan before, and what they do is this: they hurt everyone other than their team members. The idea of this is to increase killing power, and effectively allows 1 group to control tamal. Soloist would inevitably fail unless they decide to work together.

Forgotten to mention, because of priests angelic blessing, they have a very strong opening. And because the tamalan arena fights usually starts off with low level moves, its very hard to kill a priest in the beginning. What are your recommendations on dealing with priests in the beginning 1v1?

I did not know that before lol. So, if you score 240 points before tamalan is over, return to staglade, does that mean you can claim your reward of 3 gold badges, 10 silvers and 30 bronze, re-enter and score more points to hopefully get more badges?

And one more thing - how do you score 459 points in 1 tamalan session? Was their competition fighting in your tamalan, or were there lots of inexperienced players or did you massively farm alts to the point where you scored so high? If you farmed alts, how many alts did you use?

On another note, if you scored 459 points in a 30 min session, why not consider disconnecting once you reach 240 points, claim your reward and re-enter for more tamalan action to score a little bit more gold badges? You might be able to get 4 gold badges in 1 session based on that record.

            1. yes thats possible. if you have your target points you can return to starglade claim your reward and reenter. but if you have lessen than 5 min i would say its not worth it if you cant play "good" in tama. because after reenter you have lose all you skills so u will have low lvl skills there and the other player already all on lvl 5. so will be harder to get more points.

            2. i was not realy farming. i was just happy that nearly every second skill use someone died. was full tama whis 20 ppl. maybe i just was lucky ^^

            3. i dont disconnecting because i wanted to try if you can get even more than only 3/10/30 badge and if you have after 459 points still 3/10/30 i "think" thats the 240 is the highest reward or maybe at 500+ you get more ? i also was not realy looked at my points. was wordering too that the points where so high after i was back to Starglade ^^

              Some suggestions on the guide:
For the skills, can you include the incremental benefits of upgrading them? Such as, what's the dmg increase & knockback increase for fireball when upgrading from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc. Well, start off with what the stats of the move are from level 1, and mention the increments like: how much the knockback increases per upgrade and how much the dmg increases.

              Questions:
Can you get more information as to what ice age does? Right now, the stats basically says its a weaker version of deathly curse: more cooldown, less damage, more costs of badges per upgrade, and the same max number of people are struck. What makes this move different than the deathly curse move? What are the possible reasons for the higher cost? I mean, deathly curse is a lot cheaper (10 badges vs 15 badges or in level 5 terms, 50 badges vs 75 badges) and does more damage, so right now I see no reason in using ice age over deathly curse. I have used deathly curse a lot, and all I can say is that deathly curse is basically a linear move like torpedo, with higher cooldown, and no knockback, thus allowing for chained attacks (attack with deathly curse, and follow up with any other moves of your choice because the target didn't get knocked back).

I have never used ice age before, so I would like to know what its like and whether this move should be worth considering. I want to assume its a linear move with some knockback + some 15% dmg at level 5, but as far as I know, I don't know how ice age works. I remember getting hit by a move that roots you to the ground (not stun, but an equivalent of stunning), and I couldn't use any linear moves on opponents. Is this the effects of Ice age? And, if this move is the one that roots you to the ground temporarily, does a phantom skill nullify the root status when in effect? Well the other question is: does phantom nullify slow statuses?

Some additions you should probably make:
untouchable - you can still take the the periodic 5% dmg and die from it, for staying in the tamal arena for the 3-6 seconds, and you cannot use your other skills during the time of the untouchable effect. So, you cannot attack people while untouchable is active and you are not fully immortal while it is in effect. I have no clue whether stun or slow moves (status dmg moves) will do anything though while untouchable is active. I think lava damage can still hurt you, thus this move probably can be used to commit suicide in tamalan arena, and disallowing people from getting a kill of you even if they want to chase you down.

invisibility - if you get hit by skills, you're stealth isn't jeopardized. In cs, rogues stealth implies that if you get hit by an aoe attack, your stealth mode is lost.

Theres a soul called numbness (all classes can get this, light soul): and what it does is it provides you a chance to stun with any attack for 1 second. When upgraded to the max, the numbness soul provides 10% chance to stun a target for 1 second. This applies in tamalan arena, so you can occasionally stun players without having skills that have the stun attribute.

There's a soul called forgiveness, and this one purges negative statuses when attacked at a % based. 20% chance to purge bad status is the max, and I assume this can apply in tamalan, though I never seen it in action (or never paid enough attention to notice it take effect).

              One last thing/ edit:

Revive potion last for 15 seconds, heals you 20% hp every 3 seconds while it is in effect. Your not immortal when using revive potion, but its more difficult to kill you considering that every 3 seconds you heal 20% hp, and the deathly curse move (highest dmg move) does 20% dmg, and has a cooldown of 10 seconds.

We should get a universal Tamalan arena for all servers to join since no one comes to it anyways. Tired of no one coming for me to beat up in that arena. Pretty simple to get gold badges and the max amount of points I ever got in Tamalan is 311

for what its worth - if you are alone in arena - sitting will recover enough HP to stay ahead of the HP loss from being in the arena.
