I mean indeed crit damage is being reduced but the amount of crit defense we gain from the gems seems neglectable to today's stats. It might've been useful when Mortal Lv60 was still the levelcap but not now.Crystal Saga:

well it doesn't matter, i've play the chinese cs before, and it work just like the same, BUT i don't know if they translate it very specific, but what i do know is, crit damge calculated damge get from you char base dmge not crit strike, say if you char has 1200 crit strike + crit damge 200% , that's a very low crit dmage you got there,

i believe crit def works,i heard from someone 10 crit def reduces 4% crit dmg,now i dunno how true that is or where those numbers came from,me personally i'm filling my chest full of imma's and necky atm, switched my ambers over in zod charm so i lost basically nothing cuz to me,i'm in end game mindset where crit dmg/crit def/ap/ap def matters most,i'd say some extensive tests would have to be done, like was said alot of things factor in like ap/lucky/crits and crit dmg%,also the reason i'm in my mindset,my defs over 110k atm so i'm chacing different defs

There is a crit reduction factor
I have posted many times on the issue with numbers I got with the help of guildies
We determined that the max crit dmg reduction is 100% additively based on the fact that a guildie's crit dmg compared to a non crit attack was 100% less than what it should of been. Don't have exact numbers atm but her attack translated to 230% instead of 330% crit damage.
The target has well over 1k crit def.
As per the 10crit def = 4% reduction, this is an observation from blood priest tenacity skill.
Adding 1 level raises your crit def by 10 pts which the skill claims is 4% reduction
We didn't bother proving if it was true or not thoSith's Priest Guide
