broken weapon

so i rebirthed an alt today and started grinding. several hours later i noticed the weapon (frag earthen +3), a level 40 weapon, was broken. i know i repaired all my gear before i rebirthed knowing i wouldn't be able to use anything i had equiped at the time, yet my durability still decreased.... weird. why would that happen? i wasnt getting ANY of the stats from ANY of my gear yet the durability was still being taken as if the gear was being used.

I imagine that if any gears are equipped to your toon and you're out and about doing stuff, the durability of those equipped gears will decrease, whether or not your toon is meeting the requirements to use its stats/effects. The only sure way to prevent reduced durability of unused equipment is to entirely remove your gear where it will then appear in your pack.

i know, but still it was a weird thing to see. wake up in the morning and the weapon you cant use and technically cant equip is now broken, not that im worried too much about it, 1. its an alt, 2. i have golds to repair.

Yea equips will still take repairs regardless if you meet lvl requirements or not , best to un-equip after rebirth especially zodiac gear and weapon :P
