As a non casher and someone who uses dozens of alts to compete, I still continue to despite the tenet system.
There's nothing wrong with the tenet system. Rather, I welcome it. This has the greatest return for players who use gold/items to trade for cash items. Unlike existing systems where you either need very large quantities and/or perquisites such as wings or monster book, you can expect some serious stats for under 100P compared to upgrading other things like mount or wings.
Quite frankly, I'm tired of having to log 10-14 alts for IOB and quiz or running 30 food boss runs to get items for trading or upgrading which usually amounts to a little under 1k in a boost of my atk. Then tenets and a black friday sale came in and I boosted my m.atk by nearly 30k for about 60P I dumped into buying those GPoW in that one day.
Comparatively speaking, the amount of effort I put into upgrading wings or mount for stats is no where near the amount of stats I gain for pooling resources to trade for PoWs.
This also allows a lot of players to start climbing higher levels of ladder without needing to invest months of game play to achieve.
And this is the natural course of all MMOs. There will ALWAYS be new content that makes things easier for the new players. This is just one of them. Do I feel bad and discouraged just because a few cashers who had less than half my stats can now boost to equal if not more than my stats? Not really. More competition is fine with me since most of my competition is either untouchable or too soft for me. And while I'm not so heavy on the time I spend on CS anymore because I'd rather do things in real life, I can still spend A LOT less time with farming because I can expect I can still get a lot of boosts from trading the things I get in a day for PoWs.
Competing against cashers was always hard REGARDLESS of what system was currently available. In your server, there just wasn't a casher willing enough to buy stats triple yours. Before tenet system, we already had players with 100-500k atk (some even non cashers). So really, this system and the sale didn't change anything but raise the bar. And just because I can't compete with the cashers with triple my stats doesn't mean I can't enjoy playing and finding things to accomplish.
