Ultimate Game Card/ Ultimate Points Retiring

Soo I got an email that UGC's will be "retiring" soon. While this doesn't effect me much I'm putting it out here for others to see and know in case they were saving cards up or had unused points still. Below is what their main page says. http://www.ultimategamecard.com/

Retirement Details
After seven years of having fun helping gamers pay online for virtual currency in their favorite games, our Ultimate Game Card (UGC) will be retiring later this year. Ultimate Game Cards are in the process of being pulled from all retail stores and removed from online resellers. Consumers will no longer be able to buy Ultimate Game Cards after August 15th, 2014.
The last day to redeem your activated UGC codes will be September 30, 2014. So please remember to redeem your UGC codes before that date.
Related to the UGC product retirement, UltimatePoints (UPoints) will also be shut down. The last day to redeem your UPoints will be October 31, 2014.
Please note that some games might stop accepting Ultimate Game Cards and UPoints before the retirement dates so be sure to redeem your cards and points sooner rather than later! For a current list of games please refer to UltimateGameCard.com/allgames


I do wonder will R2games have another alternative to UGC's that can be bought in-store or online?

Yea, this is going to affect me even more now. I extremely hope this will not affect our community as much but it will for sure affect the game itself very heavily.

Yup, when I used to cash more I would buy a lot of UGC's and save them for points or a good sale. I know a few of my friends do the same thing now even though i don't cash anymore.

I've never had Paypal work for this game.... so its down to basically anyone who has a credit card.

I know that UGC codes will no longer be valid as of September 30th and the last day to redeem points will be October 31st.
As Storm stated stay posted for word from R2 on when they will no longer be accepting this payment method, as it could be sooner than the UGC deadline.

Just giving my opinion, KarmaKoin(from Nexon) is suppose to be an competitor to UGC. So don't know if r2 is interested to switch to them. They can be found in most convience & Phamarcy store in the US.

Hmm karmakoin is a great idea, I used to play a few games that used them and there found everywhere, every store I went to had them was easy to find and easy to use. I would definitely be interested in seeing something like that.

Still surprised more people aren't exactly asking about this since I'm sure it isn't just the people I know using UGC for things like VIP and saving for a good sale xD
