EUNA'S GUIDE GUIDE TO A HYBRID SUPPORT PRIEST

DISCLAIMER: I AM NO EXPERT AT THIS GAME, OR AT PLAYING A PRIEST. I'VE CHANGED SKILL BUILDS MANY TIMES THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR AND HAVE FOUND THIS WORKS FOR ME.

THE TLDR VERSION IS BASICALLY THIS: LOOK AT THE PICTURES.

You are more than welcome to try this build out, and make any adjustments as you see fit. But before I get into this guide, I'll give you some background information first:

I play a level 100 Scion priest. I am part of a Ladder team that frequently travels to level 65+ of ladder, and I PVP in Sengolia battlegrounds, compete in Avernal Realm, and solo Dungeons at nightmare level. The exception being nightmare Hollows because Wrath likes to kick my butt.

    Now, on to the guide.

    *********************************************************************************************************
    STATS

As with most other priest guides, my suggestion is Pure Intelligence. You get health boosts from Soul, Jades, Gear, Mount, etc. There are many possibilities to build up health and endurance, so why put so many points into endurance if you're looking to be more of a support character?

    My stats are as follows:

These are buffed stats, and I've put on a Covenant cap (for Ladder). It gives me an additional health boost, healing boost, and cast speed boost to bring it up to 157%. That's 7% up from 150% with Slayer's cap.

Your cast speed matters. Yes, it's about how much you heal, too, but the faster you can cast your spells, the better.

    SKILLS

Let's start with the Holy Tree, shall we?

As you can see, it's very heavy in terms of skills like Guardian's Protection, Angel's Blessing, Circle of Power, Resurrection, Saint's Strength, and Heavenly protection. Buffs are important! Buffs and heals are key.

Also Light Heal is maxed, and Circle of Healing is 4/5. I ran out of skill points.

You can be perfectly okay with keeping Res at level 1 if you choose, but I prefer it to be level 5 because of a 2 second cast time. I cannot stress enough how handy this is in ladder.

Having Light Heal maxed is very important. It's instant cooldown, relatively quick to cast, and is used more frequently than the others. Healing Wave has a very slow cooldown rate of 12 seconds. Don't max it.

It's better to put points into Circle of Healing. It has a short cast rate, is an AoE heal, and its cooldown is shorter than that of healing wave.

Angel's Blessing is important to keep up mp/hp regen. Saint's Strength gives your heal a nice boost, and its mp consumption is taken care of by Angel's Blessing.

In addition to support skills, I have some holy attack skills. Spirit infusion + Improved Spirit Infusion + Blood pact + 3 curses + Master Light Beam/Blood beam are the skills I use for Sengolia.

And now for the Blood Tree.

Everything is level 1. I'm not pvp heavy, but I have some blood skills to aid me in combat, Avernal, and dungeons. My default skill is Master Blood Beam, and I use Improved Blood Pact, never Life Drain.

Very simple set up for higher level dungeons. Light heal and potions in healing slot (potions just in case I need them), Spirit infusion, improved spirit infusion and blood pact in afk skill bar. That's it. I like faster attack skills.

    GEAR

Last thing! I don't like Jades, so I stock up Sapphires in my cap. Note that this is a personal preference. I like Ambers in my armour and boots. And my staff and gloves are chock full of....

    ...Emeralds!

And that's it! My soul tree mainly focuses on the Spirit of Light soul tree, but I've dabbled in many of the other trees. Spirit of Light soul tree offers a lot of healing, intelligence bonuses, and cast speed bonus.

    Thanks for reading~

Hope this helps anyone who's curious about another priest build!

Yeah, it's a little wordy so I'm trying to cut it down. ^^ There's a lot of information to condense. Thank you, though!

I would argue that yes, you can use this build to solo dungeons, but it's not the best build for it. This wasn't my original build for when I did vault, though, so I'm not sure how it works out at lower levels. My original for vault had no buffs and had maxed curses instead. I solo'd vault normal probably around level 40 something, hard at 45-50 and nightmare at 52-56. I did find it became much easier to solo vault nightmare with buffs, especially when I hit 60 and got circle of power.

But as stated above, I CAN solo all dungeons, and was able to before rebirth (all dungeons, all difficulties). The only one that gave me trouble before Rebirth was Psycho Nightmare. I didn't have full Slayer.

          Let me think back...

Usually when I tried out a dungeon, within 5 levels of the minimum level for a dungeon I could solo at least normal or hard. Nightmare took longer to master. The only way to know is to try it out. This is mainly a support build because of all the heals, but it has attacks to make it possible to dungeon crawl.

Why have the Light attacks and not just boost up ur Main attack?

Easy question to answer. :] Check out the descriptions for light attacks:

Since my healing stat is higher than my magic attack stat, the damage bonuses I get are pretty good from my healing.

Not to mention, spirit infusions are instant-cast, and master light beam crits high when it crits. If you see a priest in Sengolia hitting you for over 100k of your health, you can bet any money that's from Master Light Beam. Outside of Seng mine can hit 75-79k. Inside it can hit upwards to 101-115k. This depends of course on how high someone's mdef and mdef reduction is.

I've tried maxing master light beam and master blood beam before... I didn't see much of a difference, so I kept them both at one.

Hmm, interesting. I have 3 free skill points so I might try out spirit infusion. I definitely do like blood beam more than light beam so I'll stick with that. I have so many bound SoT's so this is great.
