Hey, I'm here to say that Dragon Hook needs to be buffed up more, in order to ACTUALLY have a chance against kiters.
I'm not complaining that Kiting is "cheating", but I want a way for knights to actually have a chance against them. I think that Knights should be buffed up a bit more in terms of getting ranged to be in melee range.
I am talking about the start of the game, so we do not currently have a stun, for example. You could always say "just level up faster/cash more/use dragon hook/get a damn stun" but that's not what I'm talking about here. People have said, "just fight the players off with dragon hook."
Dragon Hook, you can only drag them forward and then have time to do like, what? 1 saberslash and an auto attack if you're lucky. This just drags them forward. In just 2 seconds, they're off out of melee ranged if they are not debuffed on move spd. If you're just by yourself, you do not have a slowing movement speed unless you're a Retribution Knight. I think that Dragon Hook should have a speed reduction above 50%-ish. Yes, if you're a tank you should be strong enough to last long enough, but if they kite long enough and you're against multiple players, you can't even fight that player. I've noticed, whenever you are being kited, and you just are like "ugh, like I care... -switch target-" then the ranged player finally comes back and hits. Yeah, they're not tanks or anything, I know... But I think that it'd finally give a chance for melee players (knights to be exact) to have a chance against kiters.
As stated before, in 2-3 seconds the player you hooked would just be back outside of the melee ranged. If you gave Hook a speed reduction, then maybe it'd take about 5-6 seconds if you're chasing them. So, about 5 attacks then, and then they're off to kiting you again.
blah blah, I know you'd say "Charge would be useless then, so there'd be no point in being a Retribution Knight."
You could always have a BONUS attack to get even with the kiters. Charge, then if they run, follow it up with a Hook, and then they should be dead. If you think that Charge would still have to be better to give reason to be a DPS knight, then you could always make it do damage rather than 1 dmg.
I'm making this topic because there are alot of Knights on S63 who I hear complaining about kiters, and they always say "just hook me, and that's fine so shut up." but that hook isn't enough... If you've played knight in seng around the start of the game where you do not have stun, you would understand.
Kiters would be upset, of course, but it's time to give them revenge for all that pain of chasing them knights have had.
I'm not asking for stuff like ideas to deal with kiters, I'm asking if you agree with it, and if you can also put your reasons and your class, that'd be great.
I hope that Dragon Hook gets buffed up so that knights have a chance for once. Seems like, Knight (not counting retribution knights) have no move spd. reduction whilst rangers, mages, and priests get alot of skills to reduce their move speed, root them, and they also have kiting skills (blink, traps, and rangers have high movement speed.)
