Flooded Chat

This is becoming a real inconvenience with all the hyper children flooding chat, playing monkey see monkey do. changes are needed. im tired of seeing everybody spam chat, and sick of having to spam chat myself when something important comes up. every day i fully extend the chat box and if i switch it to world or trade its flooded with the same ****.

its always ppl trying to sell something buy something or look for a party for something. thats understandable, but when its the same ppl spamming the same **** over and over it makes the chat 100% useless to many other people, buying or selling. i think its about time that the amount of time between each message sent should be drastically increased and also make a fix so that people cant spam the same message in world and then trade chat. make the time apply to both channels as one. this gives other players a chance to post their trade/shop loc/party recruiting msgs, without having them pushed up the list, never to be seen again.

I also suggest having a "Player Mod" on each server handing out 15 minute - 24 hour mutes to people who abuse the chat system, and players that are saying things that others may find offensive, as a way of enforcing the code of conduct (that doesnt exist apparently) to help make the gaming experience better. (This is coming from somebody who has said a fair share of offensive things in chat, but its never too late to change is it?)

My final suggestion is adding a button similar to that of monster handbook, lottery, guild boss and zodiac that is linked to a marketplace forum for each server, so that people can post their shops and its contents there daily. Many people that use alts to sell goods would benefit from this. Allow each player to post only one thread per day, but allow them to edit it as they wish. That would potentially help to reduce the number of people spamming chat and allow us players to actually use it. A better forum structure would certainly entice more players to use it.

I'd really appreciate some well thought out feedback, not people bashing it, or people just saying yes or no. Maybe make a poll out of this and make it sticky so that it actually gets viewed and responses start coming in.

I know that is annoying but that is a player who is looking for Dragon Eggs.....

There is a cool down on on how often in x amount of minuets they can post in either chat. But posting for items isn't really braking any rules, its the Gold spammers and MALLMMO R2 are looking out for more.

Only suggestion i can think of is increasing the cooling of time between each post

ignore list is no good, because if they go on iggy 2 hours later they could be buying or selling something that interests you, but you cant see it. and if oyure looking to buy an item you dont need to type it in as often as the game allows and flood chat. it makes it impossible for others to use chat unless we all spam like those people, and when that happens people just close chat, or stick to guild/pm. its a no win situation. players have no respect for other players these days...

Well, i don't know. In my server it's usually only 2-3 people each day who spam their advertisements on WC (Before they get swamped with harsh words by some annoyed players), while majority of players are civil enough to simply post on trade section.

on my server if you chirp off at a spammer they just spam more cuz theyre ignorant douchebags
and on my server its like 75% of people that spam every time they wanna buy or sell... and when they need a party they spam even more... everybody already knows they need a party and have 2 open spots... spamming it doesnt fix anything just pisses everybody off and it needs to stop

keep in mind that stuff like this is part of what ruins the market on a server, and a ruined market is one of the main reasons people quit the game. so what im saying is, this behavior being allowed is costing R2 money. and pissing me off

if they get excessive with it best to file a ticket if want something to be done, take screenshots showing that its a bunch, possibly including server time if they are only person talking &difficult to show msgs are different with each screen shot

maybe if people did what i asked and "hired" players that are full time on individual servers instead of having these so called "enforcers" step in for an hour a day when they get home from work to mute the first person that swears and ignore the rest as they feel they have done their duty, then go back to playing on their server.. this issue wouldnt happen. all ive seen is ppl be wrongly muted/banned and the spam and ****** continue. as much as u do a good job in some places, you also **** up just as much by coming on other servers and punishing other people on a whim. lets go back to the original post and give it some serious consideration instead of talking about it and brainstorming ways to defend the issue. enough is enough.

and this thread hasnt been made sticky ... probably because of stuck up spammers defending it or ignorance from r2 people in general. and now who suffers because of the lack of attention, why none other than me. r2 can get bent. this is so disrespectful and ignorant....
honestly, do i look like a mod, no. would i be a mod, no. would i do better than most of them as a mod, yes. however, theres a current problem with the lack of intelligence on the r2 side, and i dont want my name associated with them.
