  • Feedback on events

Forum's called Suggestions and Feedback, so I'm going to state a few observations I've made from watching guild chat and world chat recently. I make no claim that I speak for everyone, but I know from what I've seen that I'm not the only person who thinks this way.

Maybe from a GMs standpoint, this weeks events are big. There is a lot going on. However, compared to the past big events (clovers, oranges, christmas and valentine's day having quest lines with stories) all of what is going on is extremely lackluster. There's chance to experience stuff we'd probably never get to experience for two hours, soul shards, and gold/silver badges this event. Past big events gave people several ways to enhance their characters. This one does not.

People have said that people just want free stuff because they are lazy and do not want to work for anything. How about the people who are wanting events of that kind that have worked their butts off to get hellwing, angel lord wings, a demon king/burning angel/both, a 3rd form or higher pixie, all +13 purple slayer/orange slayer/superior fragarch VII. They don't get to that point being lazy. What about when they want free stuff? Does it still apply? I've seen several people of that type complaining about events. People want to be able to advance their characters.

I actually feel sorry for the people who every week hope for the gmut event, as I know there are people who've been saving up since the last GMUT event months ago and don't want to work on anything else out of worry that if they do and they spend all their gold, the event will come and their chance at prospering from the gmut event will be gone for who knows how long it'll be again (before anyone says it, I have hellwing so I could care less about gmut event coming or not.)

Moral of all of this, people want A.) Things to continue working towards in the game, and B.) The chance to see what they've worked for come to fruition. With the amount of permanent content in game, only way to improve after a certain point is to run avernal and crypt and hope you get lucky should you get a prize in crypt, or when you get an avernal pack. Soul is the only constant way to improve, and even that starts to get stagnant when you need 100+ shards an upgrade.

It also doesn't help that people can go look at other versions of the game, see what other content the game has to offer, and then sit around wondering why R2 hasn't put some things in yet, or at all. It's a basic law of economics, competition. Not saying other versions are better, but when other versions offer more content and R2's twiddling their thumbs waiting to put out content other versions have had out for months now, people are bound to get dissatisfied, and don't want to go to the competition because they've already invested alot of resources in this version and don't want their time and money to go to waste.

In a nutshell, people are bored and want more permanent content that gives them something to actively work towards for the long run, not pet equipment that can be obtained and enchanted in a matter of days, or a goddess system which relies on waiting around for loyalty and charm to accumulate and luck that people will buy your blessing. How about the pet soul thing we've had teasing us since january? How about letting us know what the last equipment slot, Soul, is like? 2nd rebirth? Raise the level cap? Perfect form of fragarach?

The players who've played over the past year want a reason to keep playing, R2, not a reason to cash for novelty mounts and costumes.
The one and only Krysia from Sea of dreams (Thank god for that; one of me is too many!)

As previously stated, we are listening to players complaints about having weekly events, and looking at the possibility of removing them.
This Forum Admin is no more. He has ceased to be. He's expired and gone on to other work. He's a stiff. If R2 hadn't ignored him he'd still be employed. Bereft of work he lives in peace. His forum duties are now history. He's off the twig, he's kicked the bucket, he's shuffled off these forums, run down the thread count, and joined the ex-R2Games Employees Club. i dunno, sorry for being dumb coz what i saw from players posts -- they are complaining about the event which is getting worst and not having a weekly events. I know that R2's the boss in here and they can cancel any event if they want to BUT R2 cannot have an anniversary without your players; cashers and non cashers you should remember that.

how about GM give us an exact date when those permanent content is going to be release so that at least we have a clearer picture. Besides, it also gives u guys some pressure to work faster. not to b offensive but you really release ur content way too slow...

                      Dear Stormaggedon,

reading is one thing, understanding an other. (No offense.)
People are NOT complaining about having weekly events. People are complaining about the content of your events.

You clearly have no idea about marketing or how to run a proper business. What are you trying to tell your customers - Do as we like or we ruin this game for every noncasher? Is your statement the attempt to overrule complaints with force? I'm pretty upset about your statement.
I have spent a good $2000 on my character. And so do hundreth of other people every month.
We are paying your bills, your salary. It's not a big deal for me, for noncashers it is.

Your so called events are just time consuming and not rewarding. Why do you even allow people to suggest ideas and why do you ask your customers about their favorite events if you don't give a damn about it?
Are you trying to make this game cash only - letting servers die out, merge the remaining cashers with other cashers and slowly let this game die?

The thief event was a big pain for everyone. Low droprate, competing with everyone else and that every hour. All the time spent could have been better invested in doing something useful. Now we can get afk cards from the coupons (afk time wasted overnight to hopefully get a thief kill, pet exp pearls [would have been more exp for the pet if we had afk'd into average mobs], 2hr temp stuff [good for nothing - oh wait, maybe good to tempt people into cashing on greater mount token or therion], soulshards [only good thing]). You are only giving a small percentage of used up resources back. Oh i forgot, you are giving coupons to everyone for free now, great, thank you very much for voiding the last 2 weeks.

Every week a new costume and a new mount, sometimes a new pet (surprise, its a baby demon again) and at least 1 time consuming event. It's always the same.

You gave us new content, I have to admit that, but the Goddess System is full of bugs (selfbuff can be used on other players, selfbuff consumes charm while being buffed), and it's cash only. There has to be a casher to begin with (buying roses, selling them to noncasher). Your moderators are telling people to do free crystal offers. Well, you are running this game on at least 4 partner sites and those offers dont apply on all sites. Now you are giving 100 roses to people who bake a cake. Instead of baking a cake, i could use the money and time spent to just cash those $10.

Have you ever played your game? Do you know that crypt and avernal are almost always won by the same people? I'm one of those guys who always get 1st in avernal. How do you expect noncasher to work on their chars or do you even care? Well, as a casher, I do care about my guildies and my server. If all the noncasher quit, then I won't have any reason to stay myself.

When the japanese version of this game released level 100 content (1 week before R2 did), they added the level 100 world boss, ladder to floor 80, TG 80+, SoL 80+, worldbosstitle for amarog and above, GMUT as a DROP in Exelorn and many other things. They even have minor and moderate enchantment crystal as a regular drop in dungeons, not only majors in exelorn. Also more rewarding permanent events and a way cheaper ingame mall. They do give items away to let people improve.

One thing I learned was to keep expectations low so people won't be sad when the events aren't as big as said and happy when they are bigger than expected. You shouldn't have told everyone how happy they would be to have coupons.

Give me a reason to play and don't believe that only noncasher complain. I have my Hellwing, my maxed fragarach, all gear +13, and highlevel wings. I still care about all the other players who don't and who are part of this business.

It's actually not that much fun to do the same dailies and events everyday.
I'm very disappointed and the quoted line makes me not spending any more money on your game until you start to treat your customers right.

I can understand that you are disappointed too, Stormageddon, no one likes to read complaints every week. But R2 has to satisfy their customers, not to overrule them. Remove the weekly events and all that is left will be doing the same dungeons everyday. Way to ruin your game.

Try to view the game with the eyes of your customers and you will eventually understand what they tell you. People complain about nonexistent support, bullying on servers, events that aren't rewarding and repetitive and all you can say "Fine, then we will do even less for you." - sad R2, sad.

Hey man this is serious, we can't have this shut down on us the weekly events is one of the things keeping me with this game and sure I feel there have been some strike out events but the fact that you guys are trying is what makes me happy. Many game companies often give up because of the high volume of morons who don't understand just how much these events add to the game. People get off their nuts and take some time to relax.

It's still not the right way to treat customers, is it? He just said that people would complain about having weekly events. That's a plain lie.
It's the content of the events. It's too repetitive and not rewarding for older servers. And R2 should know that people aren't playing their game because doing the same dungeons everyday is so much fun.

After all it's us who pay for their product. Removing weekly events will just lead to people mass quiting the game.
Noncasher are promoting this game. It's advertisement. Casher pay for their bills.
The anniversary events are interesting for new servers not for servers who have been running the past year. No one is asking to get all items in mass for free but to at least give 1 single event that rewards old servers. We want to celebrate too - we can't.

As I said, don't get expectations too high.
And telling their customers that they would remove weekly events because of complaints is a common psychological strategy used by parents on their childs.
It's almost some kind of censorship to make people not tell their true opinion and how they feel about events.

If losing weekly events is the price to be able to still tell your opinion, then be it. It will hurt R2 as much as it hurts the players.
Or people just try to be mature enough to find a real solution for this issue. People are unhappy, that's a fact.

Let's find a solution that is a win-win situation. A GMUT exchange or an eth wing exchange or anything that helps on pixie or whatever would have rounded the anniversary up - the truth hurts sometimes. get over it. Remove the forum if you are that unhappy to read complaints but complaints aren't bad, you can use them to improve way beyond.

R2 and their customers aren't happy. Both sides are right here as strange as it sounds.

I agree with about all the posts here. I disagree that their support is nonexistant tho. For me their support has probably been best what I've ever gotten + GMs been helpful at forums as well. I also disagree that players are complaining about having weekly events, that's not true it's the lack of new content mostly imo of what players are complaining. It's a fact that players need to get more content released to them to be more satisfied, like Soul Crystals, Pet Soul, "Soul" section when we view our characters. Just release new content more often and for sure your players will be happier.
